About

The Journal of Education and Training is an open access, annual peer-reviewed journal published by Education and Training Boards Ireland (ETBI). The journal will feature peer-reviewed journal articles as well as non-peer-reviewed works such as book reviews and conferences updates from people working throughout the Irish Further Education and Training (FET) sector. The Journal of Education and Training aims to showcase, promote, and disseminate best practice,knowledge in the FET sector.


Focus and Scope

The Journal of Education and training l features peer reviewed articles from across the Further Education and Training (FET) sector as well as non-peer reviewed content such as book reviews, product reviews, interviews and sector updates. Editorial Board members include academics, librarians and practitioners from Irish FET sector. This journal will feature content from a range of contributors including academics, researchers, practitioners as well as undergraduate and postgraduate students.

The journal aims to facilitate and promote a culture of scholarly communication across the sector as well as disseminate and showcase research and best practice both in Ireland and abroad.

Publication Fees

The Journal of Education and Training does not charge any article processing charges (APCs).


Publication Cycle

This journal is published annually.

Authorship and Contributorship Policy

Authorship includes any individual who has made a substantial contribution to the work, including designing of the research, gathering of evidence, data analysis, and the writing, reviewing or creation of any text or figures. Authors shall be listed in order of contribution with the individual with the largest contribution being listed first and then the smallest contribution being listed last. It is the responsibility of the authors themselves to decide upon the order of authorship. The journal shall not recognise organisations as an author.

Where disagreements regarding authorship, and the order thereof, authors are expected to follow COPE guidance.


Plagiarism Detection

The Journal of Education and Training is committed to maintaining a high standard of publication and protecting the integrity of the peer review process. As part of the submission process all articles will be submitted through plagiarism detection software. Any work found to be plagiarised will be automatically rejected.
