Robert is the EU Projects Development Officer at ETBI and responsible for coordinating ETBI’s EU Project development and engagement efforts. Prior to working with ETBI, Robert headed up an EU Projects research team in Munster Technological University, managing Research and Innovation activities across their maritime campus. This experience included sourcing and securing EU grant funding across several EU programmes including ERASMUS, FP7, H2020, INTERREG, EMFF and ESA. Robert also acted as the Principal Investigator for the maritime campus, overseeing the successful delivery of all EU funded outputs throughout a number of thematic focuses including Learning Development, Maritime Technology, Sustainable Growth, and EU Security. In addition, Robert fulfilled Adjunct Lecturer roles with the University of Limerick and University College Cork, supervising undergraduate and post graduate research students. Before working within EU Projects, Robert served as a Naval Officer in the Irish Defence Forces, fulfilling numerous senior operational management roles, while also specialising in education and training.
